Twice Baked Potatoes Recipe: Serve Magic To Your Spouse Tonight
We are going to show you our favorite recipe…
…and it’s the Trio Formaggi Boats Recipe.
Even though it’s twice baked:
You won’t need extra utensils and get all messed up in the process…
On top of this you can go off and do other chores and stuff…
(because most of the time the potatoes are going to be baking)
This recipe really made our day countless times because it’s super delicious and easy to prepare.
Let us outline this recipe step by step:
How To Cook The Trio Formaggi Boats Recipe
And this one is special to us:
It’s extra creamy thanks to the Cream Cheese…
It’s perfectly gooey thanks to the Gouda…
And the taste of the band is complete only with slice of Cheddar…
All of this sums up to just 1500 Calories, and considered this is a meal for 3-4 people, it is not that much.
Also it’s highly nutritional. Here is what you gain from a 250g serving:
Let’s make some magic:
Step 1. It’s time for shopping, and here is what you’ll need.
- 2 lbs (800g) potatoes
You’d want them large. Because it’s far easier to take out the meat from 4 large potatoes than from dozen small ones.
- 4 ounces (100g) Gouda cheese
- 2 ounces (50g) Cheddar cheese
- 4 ounces (100g) Cream cheese
This is our special ingredient. It’d be awesome if you find all 3 types of cheese.
- olive oil
These are always personal. We sprayed a little olive oil over the baking sheet and added 1 tbsp butter in the cheese mix because it gives this special taste, but it also added 100 in calories.
- parsley (2 tbsp)
- salt (optional)
- sour cream (optional)
The sour cream is our recommended dip for this recipe.
(sorry there aren’t any pictures of the process, we decided to shot it when we tried how delicious they are)
Step 2. Pre-heat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
We usually put it on max until it’s hot, and then lower it to 400°F. It saves few minutes. 🙂
Step 3. Without peeling the potatoes, slice them in two halves.
You would like to cut them in length. Just like in the picture.
That way you get those beautiful “boats”.
Step 4. Place the potatoes on a baking sheet…
Step 5. Bake for 50 minutes on 400°F.
Now you have some free time, but set your timer in like 30-40 minutes, because you’ll need to grate the cheese.
Step 6. 30-40 mins later, grate the whole cheese in another bowl.
Step 7. After 50 minutes, it when the potatoes will be softer:
Take the potatoes out of the oven and let them cool off for 10 minutes.
Step 8. Scoop the potatoes meat.
You really want to do this carefully, without damaging the skin. You don’t want to damage the boats, or they will sink. 🙂
Step 9. Mix the potato meat in the bowl with the cheese.
Again, don’t throw the potato skin.
Add the butter (1 tbsp, or however you want it) in the mixing bowl.
Add oil and salt by choice.
Step 10. Mix with love until all the ingredients become one.
By love I mean take your time, be patient. Just until the mass becomes one.
Step 11. Carefully spoon the mashed potatoes mixture back in their skin shells.
Step 12. Bake for another 15 minutes, until the cheese melts.
Right, before you turn off the oven, add 2tbsp parsley (we measured it, and it was 8g) and cook for another minute or two, it will give the potatoes its unique smell and taste.
Optional. Serve the potatoes with sour cream, we tried the combination and they fit perfectly.
Now it’s time for the potatoes to love you back. You will feel the love of the Trio Formaggi boats melt in your mouth.
However, I see most people add bacon in this recipe.
We don’t like meat. But we love cheese. And not any cheese.
The trio fantastico:
Gouda, Cheddar and Cream Cheese.
Enjoy your dinner.
